Current Vice-President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz are the 2024 Democratic candidates for President and Vice-President of the United States, respectively. Vice-President Harris has been serving in her current role since 2021, when she and President Biden won the 2020 election against Former President Trump and Former Vice-President Pence. She is the first woman, first Black American, and first South Asian American to hold this position. Before her vice-presidency, she was the Attorney General of California from 2011-2017, and a United States Senator from 2017-2021.
Tim Walz is Minnesota’s 41st Governor and has been serving in this role since 2018. However, this has not been his only role in public service. He was in the Army National Guard for 24 years, and served as the Congressional Representative in Minnesota’s First District for six terms. He has also served as a public school teacher and as an assistant football coach.
